When you complete a quote request we collect the information you choose to provide, which may include your name, company, email address, phone number, region, a description of your site, an estimate of your monthly electricity spend, and any electricity bills you choose to upload. We use this information only to respond to your enquiry, assess your site, and prepare an accurate quote.
Lawful basis
We process this information with your consent, given when you submit the form, and on the basis of our legitimate interest in responding to a business enquiry you have initiated. Providing the optional usage and bill information is entirely your choice, and it only helps us size a system more accurately.
How we store and protect it
Your enquiry is stored in our secure operational database. Any electricity bills you upload are held in a private, access- controlled storage area and are visible only to authorised SolarSkye staff. We apply appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your information against loss, misuse and unauthorised access.
Sharing
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for marketing. We may share it with trusted service providers who help us operate our systems (for example, our secure hosting and database providers), strictly to deliver our service to you and under appropriate safeguards.
Retention
We keep your information for as long as needed to handle your enquiry and any resulting engagement, and thereafter only as long as required for legitimate business or legal purposes. You may ask us to delete your information at any time.
Your rights
Under POPIA you have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, to ask us to correct or delete it, to object to its processing, and to withdraw your consent. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at accounts@solarskye.co.za. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa.
